RAHANA- The exact number of students summoned to the disciplinary committee of University of Tehran is not clear due to summer holidays, but one of the students has told Daneshjoo News portal that more than 50 students have been summoned after protests on 1 May, 12 June and 14 June 2010.
According to Daneshjoo News, hundreds of students atended gatoprotst gatherings on 1 May 2010 after being notified of Ahmadinejad’s unannounced presence at a ceremony held in University of Tehran. also on 12 June 2010, the first anniversary of disputed presidential election a, and 14 June, anniversary of basij and plainclothes atack to the University of Tehran dormitories, widespread protests were held across this campus which occasionally resulted in clashes and conflicts between students and the university guard members. Several security forces and campus guard members have been stationed oppress student protests held on the anniversary of 2009 elections and its aftermaths.
Moreover, a number of students had been summoned to the follow-up office of Ministry of Intelligence after Ahmadjinejad’s unannounced presence. In one incident, Maryam Abbasinejad, former political secretary of Islamic Association of Students at University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences was arrested and released after 8 days.
Finally, the disciplinary committee has so far issued initial verdicts on temporary dismissal of three University of Tehran students who were told photos and videos showing their presence in protests had been obtained.
