Kurdish Teacher Sentenced to 6 Years Prison in Exile

Mohsen Jaldiyani, a high school teacher in Oshnaviyeh (in West Azarbaijan province) and head of the literary group “Teirizh” has been sentenced to 6 years prison and exile to Tabas, Yazd province.

RAHANA- Mohsen Jaldiyani was arrested on Januay 21, 2010 at his house and spent 6 months in Arak and Evin prisons.

According to Kudish sources, Jaldiyani has had experience in Teaching Kurdish language, and was active in the literary group of Teirizh.This group had acquired its license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance during the presidency of Mohammad Khatami, and had activities in the fields of poetry, fiction and translation.
