Bahman Ahmadi-Amouie, Abdollah Momeni and 5 Other Prisoners on Hunger Strike

Journalist Bahman Ahmadi Amouie, the spokesperson for the Alumni Association of Iran (Advar-e Tahkim Vahdat), Abdollah Momeni, and 5 other prisoners have started a hunger strike.

RAHANA: Bahman Ahmadi-Amouie, a detained journalist, has gone on hunger strike since 3 days ago and is in poor physical condition.

According to RAHANA, his wife, Zhila Bani-Yaghoub, stated that following Ahmadi- Amouei’s hunger strike, 6 other prisoners have also started a hunger strike.

Kaleme has reported that Abdollah Momeni has also begun a hunger strike since yesterday.

Abdollah Momeni, Bahaman Ahmadi-Amouei, Ahmad Karimi and a number of Ward 350 detainees have been transferred to the solitary confinement unit yesterday.

They were transferred since they objected to the disturbing behavior of the prison authorities and Mostafa Bozorgnia, the head of Ward 350.

The prisoners who were transferred to the solitary confinement unit of Ward 240 had stated that they would start a hunger strike if their demands were not met and if they were not returned to the General Ward.
