29 , July , 2010

Abdollah Momeni, Bahman Ahmadi-Amouei, Ahmad Karimi and a number of other political prisoners in Evin ward 350 were transferred to solitary cells on Tuesday July 27.

RAHANA- More than 10 political prisoners of Evin ward 350 have been transferred to solitary cells for their objection to the inappropriate  behavior of ward’s officials and specially its chief, Mostafa Bozorgnia.

On Monday July 26, during the weekly prison visits of ward 350 inmates, the political prisoners of this ward and their families were faced with the offensive behavior of officers and ward officials. Therefore, prisoners protested the incident on the same day and even chanted slogans inside Evin visiting hall, after which prison officials send more officers to control the situation and return prisoners to their cells.

According to Kaleme portal, in response to prisoners’ protests and instead of investigating their objections, the officials of ward 350 cut off all telephone lines of this ward and transferred a number of political prisoners including Abdollah Momeni, Bahman Ahmadi-Amouei and Ahmad Karimi to solitary cells.

Alireza Beheshti Shirazi, Ghorban Behzadian-nejad and Ali Arab-Mazar (three senior advisors to Mir Hossein Mousavi during his electoral campaign), Abdollah Momeni (student activist), Bahman Ahmadi-Amouei (journalist), Ali Malihi, Milad Asadi, Ali Tajernia, Keyvan Samimi, Hossein Nourani-nejad, Majid Dorri, Zia (Ziaeddin) Nabavi, Ahmad Karimi, and Ali Zahed are among political prisoners detained in ward 350 of Evin prison.
